DEAR DARLIN'

Will you spend the day in bed with me? We'll stay cozy beneath the white sheets, bury our faces in each other's familiar skin, exhaust ourselves in a game of pillow smacking and because it's us, we won't stop till the damage is way too done. Slow falling fluff from the the burst seams will put us to a halt and because our sugar level is at negative, no nags for the day. The only thing that's audible are the heavy gasps of air we are trying to take. Will you then open your arms and let me fall right in and lay there with me. You could look at the ceiling or out of the window and because today is today, you may turn and look at me up close without me shying away. It'll be so calm, a short nap now makes the best choice. But because it's us, you know I'll never let it go that easy. Just when the sea is at it's calmest, a storm engulfs you whole again. I'll bounce right up and pin you down and challenge you to a game of wrestling even though victory will never be mine. The only way out is when I tap out from the game. Please then hug me so tight as I unknowingly learn and follow your breathing rhythm. Halfway through the hypnotic movement of our bodies, I'll realise how heavy my eyelids are, but because it's us, you know nap time is always so near yet so far. I'll roll over cheekily and whisper in your ears if you'd like desserts before dinner?
