Apr 19 PRISMATIC EYES

Never had the chance to attend Coachella but I already feel it in my body just browsing through my Instagram feed over the weekends. Recreated a version of what I'd wear if I got to go!

Since we are at this, I want to share my humble opinion on some of the controversial articles that I'm using, namely the headdress & the jewel on my forehead.

In no way do I mean insult to the mentioned articles and I chose to use them because I really like how polished in heritage and unique they are made to be.

If the other races are able to use chopsticks an asian cultured culinary utensil and hold them the wrong way and laugh about it and continue having a good time over dinner, don on the cheongsam and be praised for it, use the samurai sword-inspired umbrellas, dress up as jesus at a party, or having g-dragon wear the catholic rosary as a fashion statement without facing any call outs, I don't see why anyone have to make such a hooha out of the feathered headdresses.

I'm definitely not discriminating the above cultures and heritage groups, I 101% respect the culture and meanings the pieces hold and went on to read about the involved groups and I stand by what I always think of them. I see them as a huge inspiration and want to be seen with them not as an act of mockery but as a reminder of their existence and creation of such beauties. Just like how society revolved and change according to the new rules, new technologies, new currency values, new operations, new line of thoughts and order, shouldn't we stop discriminating what's living and current and start celebrating history with a less begrudging attitude?

We don't expect our parents to bring us up with rules from the 60s. We don't expect our education systems and technologies to work the same as they were when they were created in the 60s. We don't expect to bring about more friction to the society today when equality is what we strive for, but while we pray for world peace everyday, some of us can't leave the past as the past and instead create more disharmony that should have never have existed back in the past by bringing it to the people living in today's world.

I don't expect everyone to see eye to eye with me on this but my baseline is, I use them in the name of appreciation, love and respect.
